About This Crap

I am OB1 and this is my blog. The word “blog” is dumb. Why isn’t this called a “bdiary” or a “bjournal?” Or perhaps “Webjo” or “Webdi?” I think I’m going to call this my “bdiary Webjo.” If it’s anything like any of the paper and pen journals I tried to keep during my youth, it will surely be garbage and make me feel like crap. If it’s anything like the bdiary Webjo of my dreams, it bring me fame and fortune and a chance to be on a reality television show on the Lifetime channel. Cross your fingers.

    I happen to be friends with “Angie” who you detail in your recent post. I’ve informed her that you re-posted this malicious, borderline defamatory piece about her so that she can take whatever action she sees fit. You should know that many people enjoy discussing things they don’t like – for instance, in your “who am I” section, you write that you dislike blueberries. You tacitly acknowledge that expressing dislikes is an easy way to get to know someone (in your “Angie” post, you complain about, among other things, DC and people on online dating sites), yet you criticize “Angie” for sharing her own list. Also, you should know that I’ve met her grandmother, and she is a bitch. Finally, and this isn’t related to the “Angie” post in particular, but rather your blog in general: you seem to be trying desperately to adopt an NPR, almost David Sedaris style, but it’s not working. Might I recommend creating your own style so that you do not need to unsuccessfully mimic others?
